extract_left

Summary

Returns a portion of the start of the input string.

Usage

$input_string|extract_left( length )

Parameters

Returns

A string containing a chunk of the input string.

Description

This operator extracts a portion from the start of the input string. The "length" parameter must be used to define the length (number of characters) of the portion.

Examples

Example 1

{'Gooooood morning Vietnam!'|extract_left( 8 )}

The following output will be produced: "Gooooood".
