eZ Platform offers a full text search functionality that lets you find the Content item you want, wherever it is in the repository.
As of v1.4 full text search is offered only as a prototype, that is it is not packaged by default, but must be enabled separately by adding a specific bundle to your installation.

Searching in the discovery bar
You can access search from the discovery bar by clicking Search on the left when in view mode. Just enter your search term and you will see a list of results.
Searching in the Universal Discovery Widget
The Universal Discovery Widget is used when you need to select a Content item from the repository. To do this, you can simply browse the Content tree, but you can also use search.
When in the UDW, access the search functionality by clicking the Search tab.
You will see the results of your search in a table below and will be able to choose your Content item from them.
