Updating within 16.xx release

Best practice for Upgrades

New projects should ideally be started as git checkouts of an ezsystems/ezplatform repository, or a clone of this repository, like ezsystems/ezstudio. While the amount of changes to the meta repositories is very limited by design, this makes it easier to get updates from upstream, like kernel or configuration changes.

Updating within 16.xx releases is rather straightforward and now centers around git approach. The instructions can be found here:

Upgrading from 5.4.x and 2014.11 to 16.xx

If you are upgrading from a 5.4.x or 2014.11 project to eZ Platform and eZ Studio, see Upgrading from 5.4.x and 2014.11 to 16.xx.

Migration from eZ Publish

If you want to upgrade from eZ Publish to eZ Platform and eZ Studio, see an overview of how to prepare for the process: Migration from eZ Publish. Detailed instruction is provided in Upgrading from 5.4.x and 2014.11 to 16.xx.
